ABOUT ME
I am a writer and editor who’s worked in the industry since 2001, and a 2004 RITA Award finalist for Best Regency (under the pseudonym Elizabeth Powell). I use the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS), am a member in good standing of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA), and am currently an editor at Dead Fox Publishing.
I am bi/pansexual, and a safe space for all LGBTQ+ & neurodivergent folx.
I AM NOT, HOWEVER, A FULL DEVELOPMENTAL EDITOR. I am always happy to provide comments on pacing and character/story arcs, but if you need book coaching or serious developmental edits, I am not the editor for you. If you require a full developmental edit, check out the editorial professionals list at the EFA website. I also recommend the services of Kelley York, Editor-In-Chief at Dead Fox Publishing and all-around rock star (kelley (at) sleepyfoxstudio (dot) net).
ANTI-AI PLEDGE: I WILL NEVER use generative AI in my writing, nor will I work with anyone who uses genAI; this is a non-negotiable clause in my contract. In return, I pledge that all the work done by me on your behalf will be 100% done by me. No AI will ever touch your words.

TESTIMONIALS
“I cannot say enough positive things about my experience working with Liz as my editor. I found her historical knowledge to be in-depth, accurate, and nuanced. Her understanding of Late Regency English society influenced my book significantly. Liz is also an enthusiastic and supportive reader. She helped me through the birth of my first novel by making me feel like she was an invested collaborator. I recommend her services whole-heartedly, and look forward to working with her in future.” - Anne Harwood, THE RESURRECTIONISTS: SHEPHERD OF SOULS
“Working with Liz was an immensely positive experience. Her attention to detail is impeccable. Liz completed the edits for my novella and caught all sorts of tiny errors I would never even think to look for. When she suggested changes, Liz always backed up her reasoning. As an aside, her side comments in the work brought a consistent smile to my face. The turnaround on her editing work was prompt and honestly exceeded my expectations. - Carson McEvoy, A THIN PLACE
“I had the distinct pleasure of working with Liz, an editor for Dead Fox Publishing. Liz was integral in the polishing process of Season of the Goat; her perspective, experience, and patience were a deeply appreciated and essential part of the process, which really helped mold the manuscript into something more. I was impressed with her communication, quickly responding to questions, encouraging and guiding with a very hard-to-find degree of professionalism, warm humor, and kindness that made editing a breeze. I've been working in this industry for a very long time, and I must say that Liz is a rare find in the field. Someone who loves her work, is amazing at it, and wants to bring out the best in every manuscript and author she works with. The House of Harrow highly recommends her.” - R.R. Harrow, SEASON OF THE GOAT
